UNCSA alum wins Creative Arts Emmy for work on 'Prey'

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — An alumnus from UNC School of the Arts won a Creative Arts Emmy!

Will Files graduated from the Winston-Salem-based university in 2002 with a BFA in Filmmaking.

You've probably seen his work in Prey, Stranger Things and War of the Planet of the Apes.

Files won an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie, or Special for Hulu's "Prey". 

He was nominated for Outstanding Sound Editing For a Comedy or Drama series (one hour) and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama (one hour) categories for the “Stranger Things Chapter Nine: The Piggyback” episode.

He received his award at the Creative Art Emmy Ceremonies held Jan. 6 and 7.

This is Files' second Emmy, having won another Emmy in 2020.
