EDEN, N.C. — Update: Power has been restored in the area.
According to Duke Energy, approximately 1,218 residents are without power in Eden on Wednesday, the hottest day of the year.
Duke Energy expects the power to be restored around 5:45 p.m. The outage was caused by an object coming into contact with a power pole.
