ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run.
Investigators said a man from Durham was changing a flat tire early Monday morning around 3:22 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 40/85 in Orange County. The victim, Deshawn Maurice Perry, 33, was gathering his tools after changing the tire when he was struck by a vehicle. Investigators said Perry was on the side of the highway on the right shoulder when he was struck and killed.
There is no suspect vehicle description or damage area to the suspect vehicle.
