CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Drivers license offices across North Carolina had to stop processing transactions on Thursday, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation. By 3:15 p.m., the issue had been resolved and transactions resumed.
The stoppage had been the result of North Carolina Department of Information Technology mainframe issues impacting multiple state agencies, including the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.
License plates agencies and online services like kiosks were also impacted by the mainframe issues.
