D.H. Griffin Sr., founder of Greensboro demolition company, dies at 85

Greensboro business mogul, David D.H. Griffin Sr., died Sunday.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Family and friends of Greensboro business mogul, David D.H. Griffin Sr., are preparing to say goodbye.

Griffin died Sunday at the age of 85.


In 1959, the husband, father, and business leader started D.H. Griffin Wrecking Company with his wife and has been a staple in the community ever since.


They even helped clean up the rubble at the World Trade Center Towers after 9/11.


Visitation services are scheduled for Thursday at Definition Church in Greensboro.


His obituary says there will be a celebration of life at the same church Friday at 1 p.m.
