GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Democratic presidential candidates are competing for votes in the Triad, just ahead of the Super Tuesday primary election on March 3rd, 2020.
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is scheduled to hold a rally and march on Thursday at the Gaines Center on the campus of Winston-Salem State University.
After the rally, campaign volunteers and supporters will cast ballots for Bernie Sanders at the One-Stop Early Vote location at WSSU.
According to the Bernie Sanders Campaign, visitors will be allowed to enter the Gaines Center on a first-come, first-served basis. The doors will open at 10 a.m. and the event starts at 11:30 a.m.
Sen. Sanders visited Durham and Charlotte earlier this month, reportedly drawing a combined crowd of 5,200 in attendance.
Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar will also be in the Triad-area.
Sen. Klobuchar is scheduled to hold a roundtable discussion on voting rights Thursday morning at the International Civil Rights Center & Museum in downtown Greensboro. Doors open at 10:00 a.m., program begins at 10:30 a.m.
After the roundtable discussion, Klobuchar will participate in a grassroots event at The Fairview Raleigh on Capital Blvd in Raleigh. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., and the program starts at 1:15 p.m.
While in Raleigh, Klobuchar will also participate in a live Fox News town hall Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is also preparing to compete for votes in North Carolina.
President Trump is scheduled to hold a rally in Charlotte on March 2nd, the day before the Super Tuesday primary election. The rally will be held at the Bojangles Coliseum at 7:00 p.m.
