DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — More jobs are coming to the Triad!
Davidson County was selected for a new battery pouch manufacturing facility, providing 352 jobs to the area.
Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) is a lithium-ion battery pouch manufacturer that selected Davidson County to be the first roots they plant in the United States.
The company is planning to invest $233 million into a manufacturing facility in Linwood, according to Gov. Roy Cooper.
The average salary for the new positions is $50,281, which exceeds the Davidson County average wage of $49,956, according to the governor's office.
The project is estimated to grow North Carolina's economy by $691 million.
DNP also has the help of a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG of up to $2,741,400 over the course of 12 years. The agreement also calls for moving $304,600 into the state’s Industrial Development Fund – Utility Account, which helps rural communities finance infrastructure to attract business.
