MEBANE, NC - A fire crew has been sent to the site of the old Kidde warehouse in Mebane Tuesday morning according to the Mebane Fire Department.

Mebane firefighters rushed to a fire at Kidde, a manufacturer of fire safety products, including fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector and smoke alarms. It happened around 5:15 a.m. At least three fire departments responded to the scene to help put out the blaze. @WFMY pic.twitter.com/gFOtZ0EcZv

The department says a fire call came in around 5:12 a.m. to 1394 South Third Street. There are no injuries and no word yet on what started the fire.

Firefighters put out a fire at the Kidde warehouse in Mebane on Tuesday. The company sells fire safety equipment like fire extinguishers and smoke alarms.

The company emailed a statement to WFMY News 2 saying:

We are aware of a fire at one of our warehouses and are working to gather more information as quickly as possible. No one was in the building at the time. The safe operation of our facilities is always a top priority.
