Mocksville, NC -- The company that makes Moravian cookies is moving from Winston-Salem to Mocksville.
Salem Baking Co. plans to create about 30 jobs over the next two years and build a 50,000-square-foot production plant on nine acres in the move to Davie County.
The company is a wholesale operation and produces specialty cookies and cheese straws. The products are sold internationally under the Salem Baking name and private labels.
Salem Baking Co. was created in 1992 as a division of Dewey's Bakery, which employs about 70 people and opened its first store in 1930.
Local, state and federal money is planned for the Mocksville project.
