Cone Health moves Hope Bell from cancer center to healing garden

Cancer patients ring the Hope Bell as a celebration of the end of their treatment. The Hope Bell will be moved from the cancer center to the healing garden.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Cone Health is rededicating a symbol of hope for cancer patients Thursday.

The Hope Bell, which cancer patients ring as a celebration of the end of their treatment, will be moved from the Cone Health Cancer Center to their healing garden.

Some cancer patients will never ring the bell, so the bell will be moved as to not serve as a stark reminder, but continue to be an encouraging symbol in the healing garden.

The ceremony will take place at 5 p.m.
