Co-Workers, Greensboro Community Remember Murdered Greensboro Mom Carolyn Tiger

"We are heartbroken, we have lost a coworker and a friend," said Michelle Palm, the manager of the KFC.

UPDATE 3/10/19 --

Dozens came to KFC, where Carolyn Tiger worked, with balloons, flowers, and love.

Tiger was shot in her own car with two children in the back seat on March third.

There were prayers and tears. At the end of the memorial, after people wrote personal messages on balloons dedicated to Carolyn -- everyone released them.

"I was tearing up, it's just it was a lot at once. It was definitely a lot at once but we just want justice for our friend, our family, our sister," said two of Tiger's best friends.

Everyone we spoke with today said their biggest priority is that justice. So far though, police haven't named any suspects.

Workers at the KFC on East Bessemer Avenue in Greensboro are still emotional.

Carolyn Tiger spent her days there making ends meet before she was killed Sunday afternoon.

In her place sits a memorial with her photos on the counter near the cash register, where she would have been working.

"We are heartbroken, we have lost a coworker and a friend," said Michelle Palm, the manager of the KFC.

"We miss her greatly. She was peppy, she was happy, just bouncy and bubbly. She just brought a lot of joy to people and made people happy, she kind of rubbed off on you," said Palm.

Police say the mom of three was shot Sunday afternoon around 4:35 p.m. at the intersection of Patton Avenue and South Elm-Eugene Street.  They say she was involved in a fender bender with a man who was driving a light blue Hyundai type car.

Eyewitnesses who called 911 reported that he cut in front of her and then went to his trunk to retrieve a rifle and then opened fire on her. Two children who were in the backseat of the car were unharmed.

Tiger then crashed into a fence near Concord Street. She was rushed to Moses Cone Hospital where she died from her injuries.

On Wednesday, family and friends held a memorial at the crash location.

Like Tiger's family and friends, her co-workers are also having a rough week.

"We have moments where we have to step away and we support each other. When those moments happen somebody else is there, we have to comfort each other like a family," added Palm.

Police are looking for the driver of the light blue Hyundai type car.

Investigators say the shooting was a random act of violence that started with road rage.

Staff at the KFC located at 1600 East Bessemer Avenue plan to hold their memorial this Sunday, March 10.

They will hold a moment of silence and release balloons at 4:30 pm which marks one week to the time Tiger was killed.

The public invited to attend the memorial but asked to arrive early.

"I am just hoping that she didn't die in vain and that somebody can learn a lesson from this and make a difference somewhere," concluded Palm.
