DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. -- Fire officials are investigating a massive fire that started around 6 a.m. Saturday morning at the Classic Family Restaurant in Denton.

Sixty firefighters from several departments got the flames under control in about two hours. Fortunately, no one was hurt. After the firefighters left, cleanup began.

Judy Cagle owns The Vendor's Loft, one of six other businesses in the complex. She says friends and community members came out Saturday night to help her pick up the pieces.

"I had a lot of people here today working trying to salvage what we can. I have a feeling probably that we will lose more than we can save."

A friend and worker at Cagle's store heard about the fire on the scanner, called Cagle and rushed over to see the building in flames.

"It’s just heartbreaking because all of us has worked and put stuff in here," she said. "And now they’re not going to have a job right here at Christmas. But it’s just heartbreaking you know?"

Officials said the entire complex is unsalvagable.
