Car crashes into several yards before stopping in front of home in Randolph County

Officers said the driver and the passenger are an elderly couple. They were both taken to the hospital.

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Police are investigating after a car crashed into multiple yards before nearly hitting a home in Randolph County.

Ramseur police said the crash started at Park Street where the driver exited the roadway on Hwy 64, ran up on the curb, and drove through multiple yards before coming to a stop in front of a house on the 6400 block of Jordan Road.

Officers said the driver and the passenger are an elderly couple. They were both taken to the hospital.

Police said they do not believe the driver was impaired.

Investigators said there are a couple of broken windows and a downed tree in a neighboring yard but at this time there is no structural damage to the home on the 6400 block of Jordan Road.

The investigation is ongoing.
