Greensboro, NC -- This fall, Campus Crossing will be home to more than three dozen college students.The location used to be home to the Campus Walk apartments, where an intentionally set fire killed four area college students three years ago.Janet Danahey pleaded guilty to setting the fire and is currently serving a life sentence for the crime.Property owners say they're moving forward with the rebuilding because it's time.The new apartment complex will meet fire codes just like the old one did.However fire officials say the company rebuilding the complex chose to exceed code requirements even more than with the previous building. Assistant Chief David Douglas is Greensboro's Fire Marshal. He says the new building is built to a more restrictive standard to what otherwise is required."They're keenly aware of what can happen and what they have here is a building that has an almost zero probability of it burning down."Campus Crossing is now accepting lease agreements for the fall.They expect to be open for students August 1.
