Emergency crews on the scene of a fire at WSSU

Winston-Salem fire crews are on the scene of a fire on the Winston-Salem State University campus. No injuries have been reported.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Emergency crews are on the scene of a fire on the Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) campus Thursday, according to the Winston-Salem Fire Department (WSFD).

According to the WSFD, the fire started in a utility closet in the Rams Commons Building. 1. All students were accounted for, and there were no injuries. 

Fire officials said the cause of the fire was due to malfunctioning electrical equipment.
