BURLINGTON, N.C. — There is no shortage of good places to live in our area.
One of them is getting national attention.
A USA Today study pegged Burlington as the 3rd best place to move to in North Carolina.
The report rated every city and town in our state based on crime rates, affordability, median income, and school quality.
Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High all rank in the top 20 on the same report.
We spoke with a Burlington city leader Tuesday about the study.
He said the ranking vindicates all the work the city has done to stand out.
“I would have to say that the city of Burlington has been really coming around and being more focused on the people who live here, the workforce, the retention of those people and making the quality of life better,” Michael Littell with the Economic Development,” city of Burlington shared.
A revamp at the Paramount Theater is among the big projects in the works.
The historic venue will add two floors and upgraded facilities.
Construction is expected to start in the fall.
