BURLINGTON, N.C. — Burlington Police are looking for a man suspected of committing several robberies Monday night at local businesses.
Police responded to Dollar Tree on Garden Road, CVS Pharmacy on S. Church Street and Dollar General on Chapel Hill Road.
At Dollar Tree, an employee said a man approached the sales counter prepared to buy something and reached into the cash drawer, taking money and leaving in a small SUV around 5:30. Minutes later at CVS, officers responded after the same man was said to be standing in line at the sales counter and when a woman sat her wallet down. The man quickly grabbed it and again fled the scene, according to police.
Around 9:11, a man grabbed money from the register at Dollar General and left. Once the employee opened the register, he pushed the employee and took the money. An employee was able to see the tag on the SUV.
The man was identified as Joshua Allen McKinney. McKinney is believed to be driving a gray 2007 Hyundai Veracruz with NC registration PHN-9549.
McKinney, 40, has outstanding warrants for:
- Two counts of Larceny from a Person
- Common Law Robbery
- Assault on a Female
- Larceny (misdemeanor)
No one was injured. Police provided a photo of a vehicle similar to one McKinney is thought to be driving.
