BURLINGTON, N.C. — A woman died in a house fire in Burlington on Wednesday afternoon around 2 p.m., according to the Burlington Fire Department.
The fire happened to a home on the 500 block of Queen Ann Street, firefighters said.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire and smoke showing from the house.
Firefighters said they learned there was a person trapped in the bathroom of the house.
Despite firefighters finding and removing the woman within a few minutes, firefighters said she had died from her injuries related to the fire.
Burlington firefighters said the fire was under control after 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire was undetermined.
