House fire in Burlington causes approximately $30,000 in damages: Fire department

Firefighters said an electrical issue with the HVAC unit caused the fire.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A house fire in Burlington this morning resulted in an estimated $30,000 worth of damages, according to the Burlington Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a fire on Holland Avenue shortly after 8 a.m. on Monday and found smoke coming from the house. After determining that there were no occupants in the home, firefighters brought the blaze under control in approximately 15 minutes.

According to officials, the cause of the fire was an electrical issue with the HVAC unit. The structure sustained an estimated $25,000 in damage, while its contents sustained an additional $5,000.

The Burlington Fire Department said it was assisted by the Burlington Police Department, Alamance County EMS, Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas and the American Red Cross.
