Bullets Found in Student's Book Bag at Northwest Middle School In Winston-Salem: Police

When the School Resource Officer asked the student about the bullets, the student made threats to law enforcement officers as well as school officials.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem Police say multiple bullets were found in the book bag of a 13-year-old Northwest Middle School student on Tuesday. 

Police say the student was acting disorderly. When the SRO investigated, bullets were found inside the student's book bag. 

According to a release, the student did not threaten students or the school's safety before the SRO had contact with the student.

Police say once the SRO questioned the student about the bullets, the student made threats toward law enforcement officers at the scene as well as school administrators. 

Police say a gun was not found in connection to the bullets.

The student faces juvenile criminal charges.
