ARCHDALE, N.C. -- It's hard to imagine a pain and a loss this immense.
Three members of an Archdale family killed in a car crash, and a teenager is still in the hospital.
An SUV hit their car, while they were vacationing in Utah.
The mother Holly, father Tyrone, and son Haden died.
Another son, 17 year old Tyler Bova remains in the ICU.
Tyler is fighting, and staying tough.
That's why the hashtag and campaign "Built Tyler Tough" is so appropriate.
There's a Facebook page, T-Shirts being sold, and fundraisers all for Tyler, and the Bova family.
"When I saw it on Facebook, I just went crazy. I taught Tyler in 3rd grade, and I just had Haden in first grade. He would have been a 5th grader this year. I worked really closely with both of them. The whole family is a really great family," said Debbie Griffin.
Griffin has known the Bova family for years.
She and her husband own "The Griffin Farm" in High Point, and the family was just there a few weeks ago for Tyler's baseball banquet.
Now, Tyler is fighting for his life, and his community is fighting to help.
In a couple weeks there will be a benefit at the farm to help Tyler once he gets out of the hospital.
Meantime, the 'Built Tyler Tough' Facebook page is supporting Tyler, and giving updates on his health.
It already has more than 5,000 likes.
Many businesses have already pledged to donate their time, gift cards, and anything else to help out this young man.
Speaking with people in the area, you can tell just how much this family meant to everyone.
"We're lost. A part of us is gone. Holly, and Ty and Hayden and Tyler were like family. We have a group of about 7 or 8 families or couples that have been friends for years, and we are at a loss," said Lori Hales, who has been a close family friend for around a decade.
Loss.
The perfect word to describe this tragedy.
Tyler is still in the ICU, but like the saying goes, he is Tyler Tough.
The Benefit at The Griffin Farm will be on July 13th.
There is another benefit for Tyler and that will be on July 14th at 5 p.m. at Fairfield United Methodist Church on NC Highway 62 in High Point.
The event will be a catered chicken dinner by Snyder Farms, and they will be accepting donations.
Tyler is said to be improving, and the community continues to support and pray for him.
All the details can be found on the Built Tyler Tough Facebook page -- along with updates on Tyler's health.
