RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — The Liberty Fire Department said a large brush fire near Butler Road is now contained.
There is still lingering smoke in the area.
The forestry service has plowed a fire line around the perimeter of the fire and the fire eventually grew to involve around 60 acres of woods and brush.
Liberty Fire, Julian Fire, Staley Fire, Kimesville Fire, Climax Fire, Guilford County Squad 50, NC Forestry Service, Randolph County Emergency Management, and the Red Cross all responded to the fire.
