By First Coast News StaffINDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Brenton Butler, 19, appeared in court in Indianapolis Wednesday. Butler faces criminal confinement, intimidation, domestic battery and battery charges.The judge released Butler without bond, and issued a "no contact" order with the victim. Butler is due back in court June 1 for a pre-trial hearing.Marion County Sheriff Deputies arrested Butler Tuesday afternoon in Indianapolis.Butler's arrest on murder charges in 2000 gained national attention and garnered an Academy Award for HBO. He was accused of murdering a tourist from Georgia in a robbery at a Jacksonville Hotel. He was acquitted. His legal team convinced the jury his confession had been coerced. Butler settled a lawsuit with the city. A film crew from France went behind the scenes of the Butler court case. Their documentary won an Academy Award in 2002.
