Three people are hospitalized after a boat speeding across Lake Norman apparently got airborne and struck a car on Interstate 77. Corinne Rust of Mecklenburg County's emergency services says the accident happened around 2:20 a-m at mile marker 30. She says three people have been transported to the hospital, two of them to Carolinas Medical Center. First reports say a third person was taken to University Hospital, but Rust says she's not sure where that victim was transported. While it's not known how many people were in the car, Rust says none of the passengers was seriously hurt.
