City of Greensboro meeting to discuss Bingham Park

The city wants to discuss possible solutions and ways the park can move forward.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — We are expecting to learn more about Bingham Park in Greensboro on Wednesday.

The City of Greensboro is hosting a meeting to talk about the latest cleanup efforts at the park. Right now, Bingham Park is closed because it has contaminated soil.

The park sits on top of a landfill that dates back to the 1950s. Leaders say this can be very dangerous to folks living near the park and those who go there often.

Right now, the city is working with the EPA to get the park up to code.

The city wants to discuss possible solutions and ways the park can move forward. The meeting starts at 6 p.m.

It's going to be at the Peeler Recreation Center, and everyone is invited.
