CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Some are calling it the 'Belichick Effect.'
Many businesses are reaping the benefits, following the news that one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time will take the reigns at UNC Chapel Hill.
The Shrunken Head Boutique in downtown Chapel Hill has shirts and hats all with the familiar UNC logo and that famous Carolina Blue color.
The boutique is celebrating 55 years and many call it a Chapel Hill treasure.
Owner, Melissa Pate, calls it a family heirloom that's had a big win thanks to Bill Belichick.
"I think before the, the day that it was like his meeting where he was like, signing a contract. We had one interview and then a customer stopped by at closing was like, do you have the cut-off sleeves for the hoodie? And we're like, not yet. So the next morning when like it was official, we started cutting," Pate said.
Pate says customers are requesting sweatshirts with cut-off sleeves--a typical Belichick fashion.
Pate says they're expanding their footprint with a second location on Franklin Street.
She says they will soon launch their 'Chapel Bill' hoodies.
