GREENSBORO, N.C. – "I've got a big flashy truck, what better way to show this?"

That's what Chad Smith said about his pink monster truck and his campaign to spread awareness about breast cancer.

Smith told WFMY News 2, he lost his mother to breast cancer five years ago and that inspired him to paint his truck.

He is challenging local truck owners to not only paint their trucks pink, but to ride with him on July 25th to Florida in the AppleFest Ride. He said he connected with Linda Harsh on Facebook who is battling Stage 4 breast cancer. As part of her bucket list, she requested to see Chad's pink truck.

Chad says about 200 to 300 bikes and custom cars and trucks will be riding with him to Florida. They left from the Harley Davidson store in Greensboro at 1:00 p.m. Friday.

"We're just going to giver her a big hug and show her the truck and show her a good time - North Carolina style," says Smith.
