GREENSBORO, N.C. -- You can see some of the best basketball players in the nation in action this weekend. They're coming together to honor their friend Josh Level.
"Josh loved playing the game. He gave it his all and never went half on anything," said Level's friend, Ty Graves. "He always gave it his best."
Level, a promising young basketball player, died from Myocarditis; which is an infection of the heart. Level, a 17-year-old star for New Garden Friends School in Greensboro collapsed during a basketball game in 2013. He died at the hospital shortly afterwards.
Doctors later said an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) would have saved his life, but there wasn't one in the gym.
The Josh Level Classic is in its third year and honors the legacy Level left on the court in the community. All of the proceeds benefit the Josh Level Foundation and support Anti-bullying in schools and towards helping schools purchase AEDs.
This Saturday, Graves (Boston College), Brandon Childress (Wake Forest), Diondre Overton (Clemson) and many others will play in the annual classic, often referred to as "The Greatest Pick-up Game on Earth."
You can attend the Josh Level Classic Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Southeast Guilford High School in Greensboro. Doors open at 6 p.m., the game starts at 7 p.m. It costs $10 for adults and $5 for students.
