GREENSBORO, N.C. -- After almost 90 years, the Aycock Auditorium name has been removed from a building on the University of North Carolina at Greensboro's (UNCG) campus.
Charles Aycock served as governor from 1901 to 1905. He was known as the Education Governor. But he advocated segregation and white supremacy. University officials haven't announced the auditorium's new name.
Duke and East Carolina also had Aycock's name removed from their buildings.
