Autopsy Results Released After Body Found In Thomasville Fire Pit

Preliminary results from the autopsy indicated no trauma to his body and no foul play suspected.

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Police in Thomasville are releasing more information after a man was found dead in a fire pit early Sunday morning.

Officers said they identified the man as Eleuterio Jose Bautista Perez, 60, who lived at the residence on Reid Street in Thomasville.

Preliminary results from the autopsy indicated no trauma to his body and no foul play suspected. Police say it appears Perez may have tripped and fell or had some medical condition that caused him to fall.

Perez was last seen around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, January 31. Family members found him in the fire pit after neighbors had been asking about his whereabouts.

Investigation revealed Perez was alone during the time of the incident.
