Man arrested after shots fired at Greensboro gas station

Police said two men pulled into the gas station on Randleman Road and started attacking someone.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police said officers arrested a man after an attack on Randleman Road near Corliss Street Monday evening.

It happened in the area of an ABC Store and a Quick Mart.

Police said two people pulled into the gas station and started attacking someone. They said the individual then fired a gun back. One person went to a hospital by personal vehicle but is expected to be okay.

Police said 27-year-old Jaron Byrd was taken into custody without incident near the scene. GPD hasn't said what charges he faces.

The manager for Quick Mart released a statement about the incident.

"Quick Mart has been part of our family for almost 30 years. It's sad to know that events like this can happen in our lives. Yesterday afternoon, a random incident took place involving three individuals who weren't our regular customers. They had a confrontation elsewhere and brought it to our store. There were multiple gunshots exchanged, and fortunately, none of our employees, customers, or neighbors were harmed. We empathize with the fear everyone must be experiencing after this incident, as we are feeling it too. While we know that bad things can happen anywhere like schools or shopping centers, we refuse to let fear control us. We're still sending our kids to school and carrying on with our daily routines, despite the shootings happening everywhere on the regular. We remain hopeful that such occurrences won't happen again. We hope that our neighbors and community will continue to support our family-owned small business, which has been a part of the neighborhood for over three decades," Quick Mart's manager said.
