ASHEBORO, N.C. — A man died after losing control of his car and striking a tree in Asheboro, NC, according to North Carolina State Troopers.
Tarek Ahmed Mohamed Asar, 36, was driving on Gold Hill Road in a 2006 Kia passenger car, troopers said.
Asar drove off the road to the right and struck a ditch. Troopers said Asar then overcorrected and reentered the roadway.
Once back on the roadway, troopers said Asar then drove off the road to the left. He struck a tree near Randolph Tabernacle Road, overturning his car.
Asar died on the scene, troopers said.
Troopers said they are uncertain as to why Asar lost control of his car.
