HIGH POINT, N.C. — UPDATE: India Abney was found safe, according to the High Point Police Department. No crime was committed, according to the victim. Police said they are rescinding any warrants.
An Ashanti Alert has been issued for a North Carolina woman police believe has been kidnapped, according to the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons.
High Point police said India Palshett Abney, 31, is missing.
They describe her as a 5 ft. 6 in. woman weighing 120 lbs. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black bike shorts, and white sneakers.
Police said they believe she's with Evan Rashad Gainey, 32
Gainey is described as a 5 ft. 11 in. man weighing 175 lbs.
Officers said the two were last seen on Mobile Street and Cliffside Avenue traveling toward North Main Street in High Point.
They say Gainey is driving a black Mercedes with license plate number PKN 8095. According to police, the plate does not belong on the Mercedes.
Police think their destination is Greensboro, NC.
