Chapel Hill, N.C. — The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill released a warning of an armed and dangerous person on campus on Sunday. Orange County emergency services told WFMY News 2 that the man has been apprehended by Chapel Hill police.
UNC released a staement that said that the man was on UNC's campus and had a knife or knives.
In the statement, the university said that the man is still unidentified. They said he was apprehended by Chapel Hill police and then handed over to campus police.
The University had activated its emergency alert system and told students and staff to seek shelter and stay indoors through texts and e-mails.
UNC tells us that the police investigation is still ongoing.
