Brothers found dead inside Archdale home in murder-suicide, deputies say

Neighbors say this is a close-knit neighborhood and most knew the people who lived in this home. The men inside the home have been identified.

ARCHDALE, N.C. — Two men found dead inside a home on in Archdale have been identified. They were brothers.

Scotty Craig Pierce and Jackie Alan Pierce were both found Tuesday morning.

Just before 5 a.m., Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Huff Road.

The caller reported being on the phone with a male who was threatening to shoot himself, then hearing a gunshot, and the conversation ended.

No one answered the door once law enforcement arrived, therefore they forced their way inside the home.

Deputies found two dead men when they entered.

One man had stab wounds and the other had been shot.

This incident is believed to be a murder-suicide based on evidence at the scene.

Donny Tilton used to live beside Pierce for 13 years. He said he hates this for the family.

"They were genuinely pretty good people, Jack and Scott. Jack was one that - he was just a good-hearted guy. He would come around the neighborhood and mow peoples' yards...but just good-natured guys," Tilton said.

The investigation is ongoing.
