A local church program can feed a family of four for a week, for just $30.
Several congregations have partnered with Angel Food Ministries to benefit strapped consumers.
For $30 they get bags of meat, frozen vegetables, pasta, even dessert.
The service has grown in popularity since the economy started to slide.
Christ Wesleyan Church in Greensboro distributed to more than 30 people in less thantwo hours.
Dolores Blake picked up items for a relative.
"It's a solo parent and they had work and lost his work. And have a job now and it's a low paying job," Blake said.
Anyone can place an order.
