GREENSBORO, N.C. — On Saturday, a crowd gathered at the Guilford County Animal for a special adoption lottery after 22 Shih-Tzu dogs were removed from a home during a police search.
About 50 people waited in line to enter their name in the Shih Tzu lottery, according to photos posted by Guilford County Animal Services on Facebook.
Out of 22 Shih Tzu dogs rescued by police and animal control in May, nine dogs were up for adoption on Saturday morning. The rest of the dogs were taken care of by rescue organizations.
" 'ShihTzuation' resolved! All pups were adopted and went home with their new families. Thanks to everyone who showed up and participated. We appreciate your support and patience," Guilford County Animal Services posted on Facebook.

The Shih Tzus posed with their lucky families in photos posted by animal services.
"For those of you who did not adopt a Shih Tzu today, please visit our adoption floor to meet all the other available dogs and cats who have been waiting for their own loving homes, many over 100 days! They, too, want a family to call their own," the post reads.
