Duke Energy said they were able to repair the power line that caused the outage.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — UPDATE: Duke Energy said the power outage is over and the cause of the outage was equipment falling on a power line. The power line has been repaired.

Over 5,000 customers are without power near the Guilford College Road area in Greensboro Friday, according to the Duke Energy power outage map

The outage is on the corner of Guilford College Road and Bridford Parkway. Customers around West Friendly Avenue and West Market Street are affected, according to Duke Energy spokesperson Jeff Brooks.

The outage was caused by an object coming into contact with the power lines, the company said. The restoration time is scheduled for around 3:30 p.m.
