'That's my baby' | $7,500 reward in missing Davidson County man case

Daniel Allan Price, 30, went missing in Jan. 2019. Gov. Cooper announced a reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case of his disappearance.

LEXINGTON, N.C. — Gov. Roy Cooper announced Monday that the state is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of a Davidson County man.

The National Center for Missing and Endangered says they will put up $2,500 dollars for information in the case, bringing the total to $7,500.

WFMY News 2 spoke to Price's mother on Monday night. Tina Vehec said Price is originally from Myrtle Beach. She and Price's brothers still live in South Carolina. Vehec said her 30-year-old son moved to Lexington in 2018. She said she's desperate to find her baby boy.

"That is my baby. I would love nothing more than for him to come home but I also have to realize that there could be a yucky outcome to this," Vehec said. "Keep praying and keep the faith. That's all I ask."

Vehec said investigators are still working the case, but the pandemic has made it difficult for groups of people to help in the search.

"I'm a nurse, so I totally understand it," Vehec said. "You have to be safe and have to keep your health first."

Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff's Office said they received a report about a missing person, identified as Daniel Allan Price, 30, on January 24, 2019. Mr. Price was reportedly last seen at a home on Pearl Drive in Lexington, where he lived with two roommates.

Price's vehicle was found in the driveway at the home but neither he nor his roommates were there, according to a release from the Governor's office.

Shortly after, Price's roommates, Christopher Burgess and Natasha Myers were also reported missing. Deputies said Burgess and Myers returned home on January 27, 2019, but Price did not return and is still missing.

Anyone with information concerning this case should contact the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office at (336) 242-2051, Lexington Area Crime Stoppers at (336) 243-2400, or the State Bureau of Investigation at (919) 662-4500.

Editor's note: A photo of Mr. Price was not immediately available. Once we have one, we will add it to this story.
