RALEIGH, N.C. — The 2024 N.C. State Fair continues offering several special days that fairgoers have come to love each year. The fair will run October 17-27 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
Advance sale pricing is in effect through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17. You can still purchase tickets online after that date, but at regular gate prices.
Adult - ages 13-64 - $13
Military Adult - ages 13-64 -$8
Youth - ages 6-12 -$7
Child - ages 5 & under - Free
Senior Adult - ages 65+ - $5
Group Adult - 40 or more tickets - N/A
Group Youth - 40 or more tickets - N/A
Cash, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express will be accepted at all gate locations for ticket purchases.
Tickets must be purchased inside the gates before 9:45 p.m. There is no reentry after 9:45 p.m.
Discounts & Deals
accessABILITY Day
The popular accessABILITY Day makes its return on Sunday, October 20. Presented by Bandwidth, the day offers visitors a calmer fair experience from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rides, games and vendors will operate without lights or music.
There will also be a "Bandwidth Chill Out Zone," inclusive competitions, and noise-canceling headphones available.
Senior Citizens' Day
Senior Citizens' Day is Tuesday, October 22, when anyone 65 and older can get in for free.
Breakfast biscuits will be available at Dorton Arena at 9 a.m. along with a program including music and comments from Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler at 10 a.m. at the Waterfall Stage.
Daily Military Discount
In addition to Military Day, active-duty service members, reservists, retirees, guardsmen, and their dependents (ages 13-64) receive a daily military discount of 38 percent on gate admission, making admission $8.
Military Appreciation Day
The fair will pay tribute to members of the U.S. Military for their service to the country on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
There will be a parade through the grounds at 10 a.m. The parade will make its way through Kiddieland, past the Scott Building, and back through the carnival midway.
Wolfpack Day
Students at NC State get admission for just $8 by showing their NC State Student ID card at the gate.
Smithfield Foods Hunger Relief Day
Smithfield Foods Hunger Relief Day, often referred to as "Can Day" is Thursday, October 24. Fairgoers who bring six cans of food to any gate will get in free. Since 1993, donations have added up to more than 5.8 million pounds of food for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
