Why Your Water Smells Like Chlorine

Archdale, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, Randleman, Reidsville, and the Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority are all doing water quality maintenance until May.

GREENSBORO, NC -- If you've noticed a chlorine smell in your water this month, don't be alarmed.

A number of cities are doing a routine water quality preventative maintenance program and they are temporarily using chlorine to disinfect drinking water.

Archdale, Burlington, Greensboro, High Point, Jamestown, Randleman, Reidsville, and the Piedmont Triad Regional Water Authority are all doing this until May.

You may notice temporary taste or odor differences but the water is still safe to drink and use.

If you think the smell or taste is excessive you can call the Water Supply Lab at (336) 373-7527 and they'll come out and check your water quality.
