We're quickly approaching tax time - but with the government shutdown and now the possibility of a temporary reopening, many of you might be worried about your refund.

Will it come? Will it get delayed? Can I get my return on time?

You can help yourself out - by skipping the paper return and going digital.

File electronically - and sign up for direct deposit.

According to USA Today, you'll likely get your refund on time if you go this route.

That's because the tax process is largely automated for tax returns filed electronically and refunded delivered by direct deposit.

Earlier this week - The Trump administration ordered more than 36 thousand furloughed I-R-S employees to return to work without pay - in part to process tax refunds.

The Washington Post reported hundreds of those workers received permission to skip work from their managers -- due to financial hardship.
