Triad Cake Shop makes sweet 'Thanksgiving leftover' plate

Cake & All Things Yummy in Kernersville made gingerbread turkey legs, buttercream mashed potatoes with caramel gravy & chocolate peas and carrots.

KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — For every holiday, there is no shortage of ideas for DIY food items that are festive.

This Thanksgiving season, your social media feeds are filled with a cheeseball appetizer made to look like a turkey with peppers for feathers. There’s a cheese, cracker, and fruit plate that looks festive and uses a pear for the turkey body. And don't forget to use candy corn to make some sort of turkey-shaped dessert!

Cake & All Things Yummy in Kernersville has created a ‘Thanksgiving Leftover’ box. It comes with turkey legs that are really sugar and gingerbread spiced cookies, the peas and carrots are colored chocolate balls and
the mashed potatoes are made of buttercream icing and the gravy is caramel.

“We all love leftovers here. I don't know many people who don't. We thought it would be fun for the kids for Thanksgiving dinner, and I unfortunately had to eat one and it was phenomenal,” said Rebecca Brumley of Cake & All Things Yummy.

The shop on Main Street in Kernersville has a handful of these leftover plates stocked. But if you want to make sure you get one or you want to order a bunch of them, give them a call. The leftover plates are $7.99 each.

This is not the first food dupe they've created. Most of their others have been cakes.

“I just made my husband a Spam cookie cake and really, it looks like a can of Spam. It's cool to make that or a Taqui's bag. There's something special to create and it's fun. We put a lot of effort and love into everything we make,” said Brumley.
