WHOA! If your home property taxes increased due to reevaluation, you could get money back

If you're eligible, you will get a check from the City of Greensboro to help offset the difference in your property taxes from 2021 to 2022.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Your 2021 property taxes may have cost you a chunk of change, but chances are after the reevaluation, your 2022  property taxes jumped!

The City of Greensboro is starting a program to help homeowners bridge the gap between the two amounts.

"It's a small pilot program, we've budgeted about $250,000 for people at certain income levels to ask for a rebate back on their taxes," said Mayor Nancy Vaughan.

The Low-income Homeowner Assistance program begins taking applications
Monday, April 17, 2023. You can apply for money back all the way through June 15, 2023.
