How to Avoid Uber Surge Pricing

Uber charges more for a ride during peak times but researchers at Northeastern University help you avoid that.
Uber and City of Greensboro background checks are similar.

This next story could save you a pretty penny in fares. When demand is high, Uber charges extra for a ride. It's called surge pricing. But now you can avoid the higher prices, thanks to researchers at Northeastern University.

Basically this is how the research went down. The team created 43 Uber accounts. And pinged Uber's servers every five seconds in Manhattan and San Francisco. They studied Uber cars' comings and goings and combined the research with Uber's publicly available tools and information.

They found, that in most cases, surge pricing lasts less than 10 minutes! Sometimes less than five.

So if you want to get around Uber's surge prices, it's as simple as waiting a few minutes until they update prices. Or you can walk a few blocks to a less crowded area and save.
