Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan speaks about gun safety

Mayor Nancy Vaughan stopped by WFMY News 2 to discuss gun safety.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan stopped by WFMY News 2 to discuss gun safety Wednesday.

Vaughan said she and High Point Mayor Cyril Jefferson taped a public safety announcement on gun safety.

"In the city of Greensboro we had over 500 guns stolen unsecured out of cars or from homes. Our message is keep it locked and unloaded," Vaughan said.

"The majority of those- a large majority- were stolen out of cars. A number of people don't lock their cars and they leave guns in their cars, so our message really is that is not being a responsible gun owner."
