Why shred your old papers?
Because the trash can isn't an option. You need to shred anything that an identity thief can use - everything from your credit card offers to your medical explanation of benefits.
"Your identity from the trash is worth $30,000 to an identity thief," said Lechelle Yates of the Better Business Bureau. "The info you get from your credit card company, your bank, even your pharmacy - there's so much information on your paperwork already. It's so easy for identity thieves to take that, go online and mine a little bit more, and start to put together an identity."
