FREE ID Theft Monitoring Letter. Nope, It's NOT A Scam!

Free ID monitoring from the Personnel Management office may sound like a scheme, but it's not!
US Office Of Personnel Management letter

GREENSBORO, NC --  You count on 2 Wants To Know to warn you about the schemes and scams out there, but we can't warn you about the letter you're seeing here from the United States of Personnel Management. It's real. Your neighbors are calling 2WTK about it, but it's legit.

The letter explains you or someone in your household had their personal information compromised due to a cyber breach and now the government is offering you free identity theft monitoring services. You enroll by going to a website and using the pin numbers at the top of the letter.

The letter goes on to explain how the Office of Personnel Management and ID experts will not contact you to confirm personal information. If you're asked by someone, don't give it.

Twenty-one million people had their information compromised during this breach. They were simply applying for jobs or submitting background check forms. If you get this letter,  the free monitoring is for real, but like any letter or email or phone call, if you want to be sure, you can always look up the agency or business yourself and call the main number.
