GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's a song we've all heard before, more of your personal information has been exposed via Facebook. This time, third-party apps are to blame.
A cybersecurity firm found more than 540 million Facebook records stored by third-party developers in unprotected servers. Take these steps to protect yourself,
- The first step, you need to change your password. And this is another reminder to never share passwords between websites.
- Use a two-factor authentication app from Google or Microsoft. Facebook has two-factor authentication as well. But it does have some privacy concerns.
- You can also prevent third-party apps from using your information.
Head to settings, then apps and websites and remove any app permissions you don't want.
