GREENSBORO, N.C. — You just never know what the Elf On The Shelf is up to or where you'll see him next. For a little guy, he gets himself around. Elfie, as he's known at Mrs. Hanes Hand-Made Moravian Cookies, is learning the way to roll the dough, mix it in the massive machine, flour the pans, and even take orders to fill the tins. You can see the photos on their Facebook posts.
"This is his first adventure in the bakery and he keeps track of all the kids and bakers and reports back to Santa every night. He's been seeing what the bakery has to offer, training with various departments, and having fun," said Mollie Fordham, of Mrs. Hanes Hand-Made Moravian Cookies.
He's having fun, but I bet he's exhausted every night! Mrs. Hanes bakers make about 500 to 600 pounds of cookie dough a day. In a year, that's a lot of cookies. It was 10.5 million cookies last year and this year, they've already surpassed that number.

"You can see the baking in action. There's a window where you can view our rollers as they're rolling out the cookies. If you want to do a tour, you can walk around the bakery. Call us to schedule it from January to October," said Fordham.
Can you pick a favorite flavor? Mine is the Black Walnut, which Fordham says has hints of blueberry in it!
